Fallen Angel Blog Tour & Contest!

AM Tour

The lure of a pair of smoldering, dark eyes beneath a black Stetson, the glistening sheen of a chiseled, hard body after a shower, or the way that leather tool belt hangs low on a pair of lean hips and faded jeans at a construction site. The more I read and the more I write make me realize that seduction comes in many forms, from blatant to subtle. Seduction as defined by Webster is the leading of one astray, persuading one toward disobedience….uh, yeah.

For me, it’s in the eyes, the expression on a man’s face. That ever so slight lift at the corner of his mouth that gets to me. (Er…my heroine)  But a to-die-for bod and killer eyes isn’t always enough (okay, sometimes yes, it’s plenty depending on the genre!) I need more (again, insert, my heroine) so aside from those sizzling looks what else can seduce a woman? Wealth? Heroism? Kindness? Redemption? Thoughtfulness?

CONTEST:

YOU TELL ME!! I want to hear from you what you find is the most seductive attribute a man can possess. One winner will be chosen from all comments answering this question and will receive an ebook or print copy of Wild & Unruly, Book I in my time-travel Tales of the Sweet Magnolia series! (*print in the continental US only, please)

And speaking of seduction…here is a short excerpt from FALLEN ANGEL, Book II in the Magnolia series, that depicts a rather unorthodox and unexpected form of seduction…sometimes the unexpected can be the most fun to write! Enjoy! And I look forward to reading your responses!

FallenAngel

Scene set-up:  Shado has taken a befuddled and lost Angel to his home, where she is under protective custody as witness to a murder. Here he has brought her tea and something to eat before bed…

He looked at her as though she’d grown a wart on her nose. “Seriously? You’ve never seen an Oreo? What planet are you from?” He grinned.

She bit her lip. In many ways, she felt removed from his way of life. Everything around her was a reminder she didn’t belong, and yet she had no idea where she did belong. A hard lump formed in her throat, and she stared at the sun on her cup, not wanting to appear any more vulnerable than she was.

“Sorry, that was meant to be funny. Listen, don’t worry. Your memory will come back and everything will begin to make sense.” He held up one of the crackers and smiled, easing her concerns a bit. “Now, what I’m about to teach you is the secret of getting the most enjoyment out of one of these.”

She smiled. “Just popping one in your mouth isn’t good enough?”

His brows lifted in mock surprise. “There are some things in this world worth taking the time to enjoy fully.” He held her gaze and blood warmed her face. He handed her a cracker. “Follow my lead.”

She nodded, licking her lips from the dryness in her throat.

“Watch carefully.” He held the cracker between his fingers. “You slowly take off the top, like this.” With one calculated twist, he created two halves and revealed a creamy white center.

With fumbling fingers, it took her a couple of tries, but she managed to get the halves apart without having them crumble in her hands. His approving grin melted her fears as it had from the moment they’d first met. Surely, if she’d met him before, she’d have remembered that smile. “Now what?” she asked, grateful for a little mindless play to divert her concerns.

He lifted the cream side to his mouth and scraped it off with his teeth, licking the residue with his tongue.

She swallowed and her body reacted unexpectedly with a delicious shiver of delight. She picked up another cracker and handed it to him. “Could you show me once more?” He repeated the performance, slower this time, and she swore it was on purpose.

I agree with you. The eyes make it for me. And the height. I like them taller than me but with nice eyes, height can be negated.

  2. I definitely have to read this series. For me it’s the tall, broad shouldered Alpha personality but with compassion and those little lines around his eyes when he smiles. The intensity of his stare when he looks at you. And the # 1 thing is if he’s wearing a kilt. lol

  3. For me if it’s he’s truly sincere, you can usually tell that by looking into the eyes and his smile. Then I like to check out his rear as he moves away. Yeah, I’m bad, I love a good well rounded rear end.

I have to agree with the eyes – they truly are a window to a person’s soul. Then I’d have to go with a brain – if the guy’s not smart and witty – doesn’t turn me on.
