Aurora Island Resort 2

A two week all-expense paid trip to the Aurora Island Resort to attend her best friend’s wedding is exactly what Meghan MaCayan needs–until she comes face-to-face with the one man she’s fantasized about for three years, the same man she swore she’d never let into her bed or her heart ever again.

Jeff Malone can’t believe his eyes when Meghan MaCayan walks into his sister’s engagement party. She is the only woman he’s ever loved, and the one woman he knows he’ll never have. That won’t stop him though. He’s determined to fix what he’d broken all those years ago: her heart.

I received an ARC copy of this story from the author for my honest review.   It may be read as a stand-alone novella, but I recommend starting with “Love by Number, (Aurora Island Resort 1)” Ashleigh and Ryan’s story.

“Love on the Rocks,” Book 2 of the Aurora Island Resort series, reunited Meghan MaCayan with Jeff Malone, for Ashleigh Malone’s wedding to Ryan Blake.  Meghan, Ashleigh’s best friend, and Jeff, Ashleigh’s younger brother, shared a hot, passionate, sex-filled, one-night stand three years ago, and never saw each other again.   Since then, Jeff has starred in Meghan’s fantasies, and she, in his.  It is not long before they are reliving their physical desires, while ignoring their deeper feelings for one another.

They decided to spend the few days surrounding Ashleigh and Ryan’s wedding, indulging their every longing and craving.  They burn even hotter than before, but Meghan returns home, while all the questions they had three years ago, remain unanswered.

This interracial romance was hotter and more emotionally heartbreaking than “Love by Number” (Book 1 of the series).  Meghan and Jeff knew each other for several years, yet neither shared their true feelings for each other.   This short story draws the reader into Meaghan and Jeff’s steamy story.  It picked up where their relationship stagnated and moved it forward quickly.  It is an emotional, little read perfect for a rainy couple of hours, curled up on the couch.
