5 out of 5 Licks
Like most humans, Erin was totally in the dark about the hocus pocus going on around her, until she learned a hairy little secret—her aunt and her new husband were both werewolves.
To say family politics got complicated is an understatement, especially when she dated and broke up with a vampire. She has no plans to get involved again with anyone anytime soon, but hey, a girl has to scratch an itch every now and then.
FBI agent Luca Cavalli doesn’t mind Erin’s occasional booty call. He’s not looking for commitment, either. Plus, her family would be none too pleased to learn she’s seeing another vampire.
But when a stalker starts making Erin’s life hell, memories of other women Luca’s loved and lost punch him in the gut. She’s in danger and he’s determined to provide her with protection that’s as up close and personal as it gets…
In a market that seems saturated with contemporary romance lately (that’s what I’m mostly getting to review anyway) and this paranormal was a breath of sexy air. Crystal easily writes some of the best paranormal books I’ve read. Always delivering on the sexy, makes me a very happy kitty. Technically this is book 3 in The Night series that was previously published with Kensington (Embrace the Night and Night Games books 1 and 2 respectively). I did something I almost never do and read this book without reading the first two in the series. The passion between Erin and Luca was insane! I can’t believe these two thought they would just be a casual booty call thing. There was lots of action in this book and several tear jerker moments, but the relationship between Luca and Erin kept the book flowing in the right direction. There is some seriously heavy stuff in this book. I definitely shed a few tears while reading this one. After finishing Edge of Night, I can’t wait to read the first two in the series! Another win from Crystal Jordan!
