I have to say I Love the covers of these books!
This is a great series, Cari’s writing style makes the characters seem so accessible and you get the feeling you know them. They all have great wit and humor in the dialog.
The first book, No Dress Required; maybe the shortest of the books, but it is a great quick read that leaves you satisfied that you read a complete story. I loved the build up of the chemistry between Noelle and Jake and when they do finally come together it is super sexy! This is a fun story, even the car jacking at the beginning had me laughing as she was trying to talk the thief out of taking her car and the part about using cling wrap. It is a sweet story too of friends coming together and falling in love.
The second book, No Flowers Required is about Alexa (sister to Jake and BFF to Noelle) and Dillon. This story is filled with humor and sexiness, the first time Alexa meets Dillon you can feel the heat, I mean shirtless, tattooed, bald sexy man who would not feel the heat? Alexa is struggling with her small business and unbeknownst to her Dillon is one of the heirs to big company in competition with her business. I like the realism to the storyline in that a lot of small companies fight to stay afloat. Dillon is super sexy, sweet and caring he wants to help everyone and that includes Alexa and her business. The scene where Alexa finds out Dillon’s been keeping secrets was so heart wrenching. I love the ending when they are bidding over the watercolor painting, it gave me the warm fuzzies.
For this third installment, No Romance Required we get a another fun, sexy and witty story. I think what I liked most about this story was the dialog and sparring between Vicky and Corey. I loved Vicky, she had a troubled childhood but she became a strong business woman. She has a tough exterior that hides her secrets and her caring nature. When she agrees to pretend to be Corey’s “girlfriend” it changes not only her and what she wants, but Corey too. Now, you got a little clue in the previous book that Corey had some good in him, but he is such an ass in parts of this book that I wanted to slap him. Corey isn’t all bad, he has a good kinky side and does come to realize that Vicky is everything he wants. And, oh boy, does he pull a great romantic gesture at the end of the book.
Highly recommend this series, all books are well written, they can be read together or as stand alones.
